CSA - Community Supported Agriculture (Order Form is at the bottom of this page)

What is Community Supported Agriculture?

Community Supported Agriculture is a fantastic opportunity for small-scale farmers and local consumers to join forces. The idea is simple. Your household or family becomes a "shareholder" in our farm by making a commitment to buy from us before the start of the growing season. We then fill our greenhouse and fields with crops grown specifically for you, harvested fresh each week at their peak of ripeness.

By choosing to participate in our CSA, you are guaranteed sales ahead of the harvest, allowing us, your farmers, freedom to focus on producing high quality food. Your advance share payments provide funds to purchase seeds and growing supplies in the spring, when we most need them. In exchange for this reasonable price, you will certainly eat produce that is of exceptional taste and freshness. You will also enjoy knowing just how your produce dollars are supporting a Manhattan family farm.
Farming is in our blood.  Andrea’s grandfather started farming in 1930’s around the Junction City area and the tradition has been handed down with each generation.  Our children are now learning of the joy, and risk, of farming.  By joining our CSA you can join us in weathering the ups and downs of a Mid-Western growing season.
This is our eighth year offering a CSA program here in Manhattan.  We’ve grown each year and listened to you the consumer to make our CSA better each year.  While we’ve had some tough weather in the last few years our CSA members are very happy with our program so we’ve decided to grow it even more this year.  We look forward to meeting you and having you join our CSA family.

CSA at A & H Farm

We offer our Community Supported Agriculture shares at the farm in a “Fill your basket" format. Each week, shareholders come to the farm and fill their basket with the items we’ve harvested.  Our farm is conveniently located less than 5 minutes south of Manhattan on South Manhattan Avenue.  Some items can be limited, while others are abundant, depending on the week and the weather.

We offer three different share options:

The small is a ½ peck basket.  It will feed about 1-2.

The medium is a Peck basket.  It will feed about 3-4.

The large size is a ½ bushel basket.  It will feed 6-8.

Other Share Information
Share pickup day is TUESDAY from 4pm – 7pm
Share season is June 14th – November 15th
All shares run for 23 weeks
Going to be gone for a week?  You’re welcome to give your share for the week to a friend, a neighbor or anyone you’d like to.  It’s a great way to share some locally grown goodness.  It’s also easy to do.  Just send your chosen one to pickup with your basket and you’re all set to go.

TO SIGN UP FOR A SHARE
Pricing information is available here.  The signup form is below.  You can mail the form to Andrea with a check.  If you'd like to pay via credit card or EBT please contact Andrea. Because we incur many of our costs of production in the spring, we ask that shareholders who are able to do so pay the entire share price when signing up for the season. A payment plan is also available, with a $75 non-refundable deposit when you sign up, half the remaining balance due March 15, and the other half due April 15.
