About A&H Farm

We are a fourth-generation family farm.

A & H stands for Andrea and Hugo, the owners and operators of the farm. They have 8 children with ages ranging from 3-19. Oftentimes, they can be found working on our farm or at the Farmers Market. In 2017 they were named the Farm Family of the Year by the Kansas Farm Bureau.

Andrea’s family has been farming for over a century and the farming gene has been passed down with each generation. Before they started A & H Farm, Hugo was in the Army while Andrea worked as an accountant. After getting out of the military, they decided to move back to Andrea’s hometown of Manhattan to start their own farm and the rest is history.

Andrea has been attending Farmers Markets since she was less than 2 weeks old and is currently the President of the Downtown Farmers’ Market of Manhattan where she works closely with other Farmers Markets to implement the use of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).

Our farm grows and changes each year.

Each year we diversify what we offer to our customers: from what we grow, what animals we have, events, and the games in our admissions area.

In 2018 we added a “Kid Zone” which includes a rope maze, tug of war, princess playhouses, a rock wall, tires to climb on, and more.

Along with produce we also have animals on our farm.  They play a vital role in improving our soil and they are one of my favorite pastimes.  We use the manure from our animals to help fertilize our soil and our animals get the benefit of eating Homegrown Produce whenever we have extra!  We are looking at the option of selling halves and wholes of beef as we have them available.  We only have a few as we are a small operation.

Our newest additions to the farm include our bakery and our bar, The Grain Bin. Our bakery offers a wide variety of drinks from lattes and hot chocolate to steamed apple cider, flavored lemonades, and more. We also offer concession on the weekend from our full kitchen and bakery!

The Grain Bin has been a huge hit with our customers , and we are so happy that you’re loving it! As its name suggests, the bar is a converted grain bin, equipped with your favorite cold ones. We often have themed drinks and slushies, but we’ve always got classic choices.

Our goal is to provide a fun family place you can visit.  We spend lots of time planning and setting up our farm so that you can enjoy a piece of our farm life.  We hope you come and visit our unique farm!
